Jay helped to found Dolores River Boating Advocates in 2012 while working for American Whitewater as the Dolores River Stewardship Assistant.  He then worked as DRBA’s first part-time Program Coordinator. Jay later joined the board in 2015. His passion for the Dolores River is fueled by the joy he derives from taking his own daughter and son on the river as often as possible.  He works for the local land trust, Montezuma Land Conservancy, as the Outreach and Education Coordinator and manages the production and community programs at their farm in Lewis, Colorado.  His close working relationships with other farmers and ranchers gives him unique perspective on the value of collaboration on water issues in the community.
