Christina Callicott

Christina Callicott is a ski instructor, river runner, anthropologist, and songwriter. She holds a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Florida, as well as graduate certificates in Tropical Conservation and Development and Latin American Studies. Her formal research pertains to traditional Indigenous medicine in the Peruvian Amazon, which includes both medicinal plants and music. She is very interested in Indigenous knowledge and cultural landscapes, both in the Amazon and in the desert Southwest, and how that knowledge and those cultural ties can be leveraged for increased Indigenous stewardship and ownership of ancestral territories. Prior to graduate school, Christina pursued dual careers in outdoor education and journalism.
